Richard Dean is Pyramid Research’s Networks Practice Director. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Richard is responsible for leading Pyramid’s market research and custom consulting initiatives related to network-centric technologies, relationship and business channels, and associated network design, implementation, and managed services.
Richard’s research focuses on emerging global opportunities, regional growth strategies, and market intelligence for network equipment and systems vendors as well as for network professional and managed services providers. His quantitative forecasts and qualitative research includes both service provider (i.e., operator) and converged enterprise network environments.
Prior to joining Pyramid Research, Richard created and led IDC’s Infrastructure Integration and Support Services research team, a family of programs that included Network Consulting and Integration Services, Information Security Services, and Wireless and Mobile Infrastructure Services. Richard also served in leadership capacities at Avaya and Hewlett-Packard.
Richard earned an MBA from Framingham State College and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Worcester State College. In his spare time, Richard is a youth baseball and basketball coach, and he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
