Intern: Europe, Middle East and Africa Region

We are seeking talented, resourceful and energetic interns to support our Research teams in the researching and analysis of the telecommunications and media industries worldwide.  The ideal candidate has excellent research skills, a familiarity with online search engines; a high level of energy and resourcefulness; interest in learning about the telecommunications and media industry; interest in international business; a high attention to detail; and a working knowledge of at least one European language.  Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint a plus.

As an intern, you will be tasked with researching, gathering and analyzing data on specific firms, industries, regions and countries.  You will be given a list of indicators to search for and be tasked with inputting data into a working database that can then be used for more detailed analysis of the telecommunications sector.  You will be asked to think outside of the box to find hard-to-obtain data and be resourceful.  Interns must be organized, have a high attention to detail and be able to work under tight deadlines.  You will report to an Analyst or Senior Analyst and work closely with a team comprise of research analysts, other interns, a Research Director.

The ideal candidate should be available a minimum of 15-20 hours per week for a minimum of three months.  The compensation for this position is £7/hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertake primary and secondary research to obtain important telecommunications indicators and metrics to feed Pyramid’s proprietary forecasting models
  • Input data accurately into database for subsequent forecasting and analysis
  • Locate contacts within firms in the telecommunications industry to conduct interviews to supplement data obtained through secondary sources
  • Navigate through existing excel models to locate data
  • Research and write brief reports (1-5 pages) on particular events or trends in the telecommunications industry
  • Research company and country data in support of written analysis and deliverable

Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical skills, particularly quantitative
  • Excellent research skills and familiarity with online search engines
  • Resourceful, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to actively contribute to the team and take responsibility
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access (desired)
  • Proficiency/Fluency in at least one foreign language (desired)
