The telecommunications markets in Colombia generated $7.4bn in 2008 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 4.0% over the next five years to generate $9.0bn by 2013. Mobile data and VoIP will show the highest growth rates, expanding at CAGRs of 15.9% and 29.5%, respectively. Revenue from fixed circuit-switched voice will decline at a 3.2% rate and its share of total revenue will decrease from 34.0% in 2008 to 23.8% in 2013, as a consequence of fixed to mobile substitution and increasing pressure on end-user tariffs. On the other hand, the services gaining most revenue share will be mobile data (from 10% in 2008 to 17.2% in 2013), pay-TV (from 6.5% to 10.8%) and fixed broadband (from 5.1% to 8.1%).
