The Paraguayan telecom market generated $1.1bn in service revenue in 2010, and we anticipate it will close 2011 at $1.2bn, up 12.7% year-over-year. As we move forward, we expect the overall market to grow at a 4.7% CAGR between 2011 and 2016, reaching a total revenue of $1.5bn. Over the same period, we expect VoIP (57.5% CAGR) and fixed broadband (22.7% CAGR) to be the fastest growing segments. While the fixed broadband segment generated 4.8% of the total telecom revenue in 2010 and 6.8% in 2011, we forecast it will be responsible for 15% by 2016. Pay-TV will be the third-fastest-growing segment between 2011 and 2016, expanding at a 19.5% CAGR boosted by the entry of new players in 2011 and 2012. As in most parts of the region, we expect that revenues from traditional fixed telephony and Internet dial-up segments will progressively decrease. This will be mainly due to fixed-to-mobile migration trends in the voice segment and the popularization of broadband Internet connections over narrowband.
