Ukraine’s telecom services market was worth $6.0bn in 2007. In 2008, we expect it to reach $7.2bn. We estimate that it will accelerate to $8.3bn by 2013. Mobile voice is currently the largest revenue segment and is expected to remain so through 2013. At the same time, mobile data’s share in total revenue will grow from 12.5% in 2007 to 15.5% in 2013 – from $0.8bn to $1.3bn. Another emerging sector is fixed broadband – its share will grow from 3.6% in 2007 ($0.2bn) to 12.9% ($1.1bn) in 2013. Fixed VoIP and IPTV will grow at astonishing rates, but their impact on total service revenue will be minimal due to their infrastructural constraints and the small scale of rollout.
