Pyramid Research expects that the adoption of ICT solutions and services in the SME segment in Latin America will increase as operators and governments work together to correct or eliminate market failures. We expect that such actions will positively impact the SME segment in Latin America and will also provide opportunities for operators and financial institutions in Latin America to expand the range of services offered to SMEs.
This report examines some of the reasons that prevent the SME segment in Latin America from increasing its productivity and therefore increasing its share in the overall GDP. We will share examples of how governments work with the private sector to develop programs for technology adoption and promotion of SMEs. Two case studies will be presented: Colombia and Argentina.
