These comprehensive reports on leading telecommunications operators worldwide cover all aspects of their operations including quarterly-updated Executive Briefings on over 100 operators.

Manitoba Telecom Services Inc (MTS) is the successor corporation to The Manitoba Telephone System, a Crown corporation that was incorporated by special statute of the Province of Manitoba in April 1933. On January 7, 1997, MTS was continued as a share capital corporation pursuant to The Manitoba Telephone System Reorganisation and Consequential Amendments Act (Manitoba). MTS  subsequently was continued under The Corporations Act (Manitoba) pursuant to a Certificate and Articles of Continuance dated April 5, 2000.

The general development of MTS over the last few years has been influenced by several events, including the acquisition and integration of Canadian national alternative network operator, Allstream Inc (formerly AT&T Canada), in June 2004. The transaction created Canada's third-largest communications provider, with 7,000 employees and annual revenues of more than Can$2,000 million.

MTS now claims to be the largest carrier serving the telecommunications market of Manitoba and the second-largest carrier in every other business telecommunications market in Canada. The company has two operating divisions, serving customers in Manitoba and across the country with a range of telecommunications products and services in the local, data, long-distance, wireless, directory, and digital TV markets. Its National division, operating under the MTS Allstream brand name, serves business customers with connectivity, infrastructure management, and professional services. The Manitoba division, which operates under the MTS brand, serves business and residential customers with a range of communications services.

MTS's common shares are listed on The Toronto Stock Exchange.
