ANALYSIS SUMMARY
In June 2007, Pyramid Research released a new report titled The Global Mobile Capex Index: Analyzing the Big MNO Spenders. In the report, analyst Dan Locke created a Capex Index comprising 15 of the world’s leading MNOs from a mix of emerging and mature markets, which together accounted for 63% of the world’s total MNO Capex, by our estimates. The report tracks Capex and revenue figures on an annual and a quarterly basis, and analyzes capital expenditure levels, trends, and drivers for the Index as well as the US market. In addition, the report includes top-level Capex profiles for each MNO. Here we provide a snapshot of Bharti Airtel, the fastest-growing MNO in our Index by both revenue and Capex: since the beginning of 2004, the New Delhi-based mobile operator has spent more than half its revenue on Capex.
