Portugal: Vodafone Leading Mobile Pack in Converged Solutions
Parity in mobile enterprise services has characterized the Portuguese mobile market for several years. Although the country’s three operators are now pushing ahead with differentiation, one player—Vodafone—is pulling ahead of the competition with its increasing focus on converged fixed-mobile solutions. Analyst Thomas Abreu argues that if TMN and Optimus wish to remain competitive, they will have little choice but to follow Vodafone’s lead.

Romania: Privatization Offers Romtelecom Ray of Hope
The Romanian government has announced its intention to complete the privatization of national incumbent Romtelecom. CEE Analyst Beatrice Zatorska argues that full privatization will give Romtelecom the opportunity to reverse its poor fortunes in the Romanian fixed-line market.
