Kenya’s Internet Boom

Liberalization and sector reform for Kenya’s ISP industry is resulting in falling tariffs and is helping fuel demand. Although the Kenyan regulator has played a key role in ensuring a competitive ISP environment in the country, Analysts Tamara Kummer and Taha Rangwala argue that the regulator’s job is only half done and there are greater and more complex challenges that lie ahead.

Turkey: Vodafone Takes a Bite

The Turkish authorities are expected to accept Vodafone’s US$4.55 billion offer for Telsim, Turkey’s second mobile operator. Although this price was on the high side, it looks like a good long-term investment that is well aligned with Vodafone’s global growth strategy.
